We’re excited to announce what we believe is the most innovative next step towards the future of crypto: Bitcoin banknotes.

Our new venture, Noteworthy, is the premier architect of physical banknotes that represent various denominations of Bitcoin and other digital currencies. While digital assets are becoming more mainstream, they still lack the level of trust, familiarity, and accessibility that a physical banknote provides.

Noteworthy is here to change that.

We’ve enlisted the best and brightest in the world of banknote design, engraving, and printing to create beautifully constructed, easy-to-use, counterfeit-resistant banknotes of the highest quality. Manuela Pfrunder, the designer of the ninth series Swiss Franc and 2016 winner of the IBNS Banknote of the Year, joined us as Chief Design Officer and has been hard-at-work designing a note that’s as beautiful as it is secure.

Also working on the project is renowned banknote image engraver, Thomas Hipschen. We are thrilled that Hispschen — who throughout his career has engraved more than 130 US postage and revenue stamps, as well as the portraits of Benjamin Franklin, Ulysses S. Grant, Andrew S. Jackson, and Abraham Lincoln on the current US $100, $50, $20, and $5 bills — has come out of retirement to join our team. And we can’t wait for you to see whose portraits will be featured on the notes.

Noteworthy combines the utility of paper money with the security benefits of digital assets and blockchain technology. Each note comes equipped with a secure cryptographic microprocessor, and, utilizing all of the banknote industry’s highest security features, Noteworthy notes will look and feel like top-of-the-line currency while providing the highest grade of digital security directly embedded in each note. Users will be able to interact with the notes through our mobile app, further bridging the gap between physical and digital.

It’s mind-blowing to look back to the time when 1 BTC was worth less than a penny, and now here we are in 2021 when Bitcoin has reached $1 Trillion market cap, and the 1 BTC banknote we’re creating is worth $50,000.

This is just the beginning, and we invite you to join us as we bring this project to life.
